The first Wine Camp has opened in the northern Croatian county of Međimurje. The Wine Camp has been opened by the Hažić family, who have been recognised for more than 30 years for producing quality local products such as wine, apples and honey.

Apart from quality products, Biserka and Radenko Hažić, who with their daughters Tatjana and Valentina operate the family farm, are also known for innovative ideas aimed at the tourism and agriculture sector, which is confirmed by this investment.

The newly opened Wine Camp is located in Sveti Martin na Muri. It is located in the untouched part of nature in upper Međimurje, on the famous tourist route in the immediate vicinity of Terme Sveti Martin and the Mill House by the river Mura.

They built a processing plant in which they produce fruit juices and dried apples, procured equipment for the wine cellar, renovated almost 1 hectare of vineyards, procured machinery for the needs of viticulture and fruit production, and they plan to expand the economy.

“We are a family that nurtures intimacy with our guests. It is woven into our daily lives and it is important to us that they feel welcome when they stay on our farm. We want to share the energy and love for the work we do with our guests, we want to provide them with rest and the autochthony of Međimurje,”said owner Tatjana Hažić at the opening of the Wine Camp.

“The Hažić family is an example of a hard-working, enterprising family, which continuously invests and develops its economy to the pride of Međimurje. Upper Međimurje and the municipality of Sveti Martin na Muri were recognised as European destinations of origin and awarded the EDEN prize. Only in the last year, numerous new tourist facilities have been opened, the Skelarska kuća in Sveti Martin, the Pušipela Center in Štrigova, and the construction of a lookout on Mađerka’s Hill has begun. The wine camp is an additional value of this area, and together with Terme Sveti Marin, which are the flagship of our tourism, will certainly attract even more tourists,”said Međimurje County Prefect Matija Posavec, congratulating the Hažić family on everything they had done.
