Tommy Robredo Wins Croatia Open

Spain’s Tommy Robredo has won the 24th Vegeta Croatia Open on Sunday in the Coastal town of Umag and claimed his 12th career title in the process.

Robredo thrashed Fabio Fognini of Italy 6-0, 6-3 in Sunday’s final which never lived up to its billing.  Robredo only needed 18 minutes to wrap up the first set before disposing the hapless Italian in the second set. Robredo received the trophy from Croatian President Ivo Josipovic.

The Spaniard won the opening set in only 18 minutes, losing just six points with Fognini helpless to reverse the rout from the baseline.

Fognini broke Robredo twice in the second set but could only hold serve once himself.
