Time and venue for Croatia’s final World Cup qualifier against Russia announced

Croatia rises in latest FIFA World Rankings

Presuming Croatia beats Malta as expected on 11 November, then Zlatko Dalić’s side will face Russia in the final World Cup qualifying match to determine who wins Group H and a direct sport in Qatar in 2022.

Croatia and Russia will meet at Split’s Poljud Stadium on Sunday, 14 November and UEFA have now confirmed that the match will kick off at 3 p.m.

The Croatian Football Federation will shorty announce details how to purchase tickets but there will be no doubt that there will be a huge demand from fans and that there will be an electric atmosphere once again at Poljud Stadium.

It is no secret that Croatia enjoy playing at Poljud Stadium, proved by their performance in their last group match when they destroyed Slovenia in September.

The only difference in the crunch game against Russia will be that it will be a day-time kick-off and not in the evening.

First Croatia must take care of business against Malta away.

“Such is the combination of circumstances, but it is better that we need a victory than a point (against Russia), our character is such. But Malta needs to be solved first, that is the key to everything, the focus has to be like in Cyprus. And then we can’t fail at a full Poljud Stadium against the Russians,” an optimistic Dalić said earlier.
