Beautiful scenes in the sky above Zadar on Sunday night as the traditional releasing of the lanterns took place once again…

The lanterns created some perfect photo opportunities in the city which was recently named Europe’s Best Destination, but there was more purpose to the night than that. The event is titled ‘to wish love’ and although it was scheduled to be held on Valentine’s Day, due to the weather last weekend it was held last night instead.

This year around 5,000 lanterns were set off into the night sky with all proceeds from the sale of lanterns going towards a self-service store in Zadar for the poor.
