Teenage Basketball Genius Dario Saric Signs Contract With Cibona

Considered to be one of the biggest talents in European basketball, the soap opera that has surrounded Croatian Dario Saric has finally ended with the 18-year-old finally signing for Zagreb’s Cibona club, writes Vecernji list.

International basketball ruling body FIBA ruled recently that any team that wanted to sign the 6ft-10 Croat would have to pay 550,000 euros to his current club KK Zagreb. After several months of waiting in limbo, an end has been put to the saga with Saric signing for the Croatian champions.

Saric, who has been earmarked to play in the NBA in 2014, won gold with Croatia at the 2012 FIBA Europe U18 Championships where he was the tournaments highest scorer and was voted unanimously as tournament MVP.
