Croatia’s largest and most important homebrewing event will return to Zagreb on 6 June 2026, bringing together brewers, judges and beer enthusiasts from across the region.

The 13th Croatian Homebrew Championship will be held at PriMarius Craft Brewery on Slavonska Avenue, with the festival opening at 3 pm.

Organised by the Pivari Grada Zagreba association, the event continues a long-running tradition that has become a key fixture on the regional craft beer calendar.

The championship previously took place at venues including Magic Beer Room and Zmajska Brewery, with this year’s edition moving to its new home at PriMarius.

Visitors will have the opportunity to sample more than 80 different homebrewed beers alongside around 20 craft beers produced by established breweries.

Festival tickets are available through Entrio for €25 in advance and €30 on the day. Admission includes a tasting glass and festival wristband providing access to beer tastings throughout the event.

A varied entertainment programme is also planned during the day, including a beer quiz, live music performances by acoustic duo Ivan & Emil, a DJ set by Franky, board games, a beer-drinking competition, a best beard contest and a promotional performance by newly formed alter-pop group The MOB.

Food will be available from Pivnica Mlinarica, while Legacy Distillery will present a selection of spirits and craft pelinkovac.

The highlight of the event will be the presentation of awards to the competition’s top homebrewers. Judging has already taken place in the weeks leading up to the festival, with expert panels assessing entries according to BJCP 2021 guidelines.

Organisers say competition was particularly strong this year, with more than 300 beer samples submitted from across the region.

The championship finale will see winners announced across individual categories, as well as the recipient of the Best of Show (BOS) award for the festival’s highest-rated beer.

A further accolade, the Championship Brewer title, will also be awarded. The honour recognises the brewer who accumulates the highest number of medals and points across all competition categories.

With hundreds of entries, dozens of beers available for tasting and a packed festival programme, the 13th Croatian Homebrew Championship is expected to once again attract significant interest from the region’s growing craft beer community.
