In-form Croatian striker Mario Mandzukic will be trying to do what he done at Euro 2012 against Italy tonight and score past Italian goal keeper Gigi Buffon when his Bayern Munich side clash with Buffon’s Juventus in the quarter-final of the UEFA Champions League.
Mandzukic, who is Bayern’s leading goal scorer this season, was rested in their 9-2 demolition of HSV Hamburg in the weekend and the Slavonski Brod-born marksmen is hoping to once again get the better of Buffon. Mandzukic scored Croatia’s equalizer against Italy at Euro 2012 with a well taken goal at the back post.
Bayern Munich take on Juventus at the Allianz Arena in Munich at 20:45 local time, whilst in the other quarter-final tonight Barcelona are in Paris where they take on part-Croatian Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s PSG. Luka Modric’s Real Madrid take on Galatasaray in Madrid tomorrow night.
