Summer Festival of Istrian Pršut to take place from 19-21 July in Tinjan

TINJAN, 27, June 2019 – Homemade Istrian pršut has been considered and recognised as a symbol of perfection, the Istrian people call it vijulin, meaning violin. It has earned its royal status due to its taste, smell, colour, the right softness and freshness. Its prestigious position is owned to strict, traditional rules and producers which are followed.

Next month, tourists will have tje chance first-hand to sample some Istria’s finest pršut at the Summer Fesitval of Istrian Pršut which will take place from 19 – 21 July in Tinjan. 

Organised by the Tinjan Council, the 3-day festival will see local pršut producers present their delicacies to visitors. Tinjan is home to the popular international pršut festival held every autumn, but this is the first time it will host a festival during the summer. 

As well as pršut, festival goers will have the opportunity to also taste and buy the best olive oil and wine from the region. Visitors will also be entertained by a music programme with Lara Demarin & band, Top Of The Pops, Duo Magnolia and Replay Band playing from 8 pm until late every night. 

The aim of the festival is to let visitors know the charms of central Istria and its life and discover all the beauty of Tinjan, which is known as the pršut town. Tourists call also enjoy the destination in the heart of the Istrian peninsula, hidden in the beauty of nature.

In addition, the ISAP International Pršut Fair in Tinjan will take place from 18 to 20 October 2019.
