Subway to Make Return to Croatia?

CroatiaAmerican fast food restaurant franchise Subway is set to make a return to Croatia, according to portal Franchising.rs…

After successfully returning to the Slovenian market last year, the largest fast food chain in the world is planning to once again open restaurants in Croatia and is looking for franchisees, writes Franchising.rs.

Head of Development for Central and Eastern Europe, Martin Princ, says that the American chain has the same strategy for Croatia as it has with other nations it does business in.

“We want to be the number one brand for service, offerings and quality products at affordable prices,” said Princ, adding that now that Croatia’s entry into the EU will make development easier and that at least 22 Subway restaurants should be opened in the country in cities with at least 50,000 people.

Subway has been in Croatia once before in the early 2000’s, but closed after operations were not successful. Princ says that apart from Croatia, there are plans to open restaurants in Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
