The Hollywood–Croatian post-apocalyptic adventure Lord of the Storm: Legend of Hammerhead premiered this week at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles.

The film, a large-scale action science-fiction production, brought together an impressive international cast and crew both in front of and behind the camera.

Among those greeting audiences at the premiere were producer Neb Chubin, writer-directors Zoran Lisinac and Domagoj Mažuran, as well as actors Ivana Dudić and Gilles Geary, alongside other members of the production team.

Following its world premiere, the film is set for a wide American release across approximately 300 cinemas throughout the United States, marking an unprecedented achievement for a regional film production.

The film represents the first authentic Hollywood–Croatian co-production and the first film from the region to secure such extensive theatrical distribution across the US.

The screenplay and direction are shared by Mažuran and Lisinac.

The film features a strong international cast, led by Scottish actor James Cosmo, known for roles in Game of Thrones, Highlander, Braveheart and Wonder Woman.

He is joined by English-Australian actress Caroline Goodall, recognised for performances in Schindler’s List, Hook and The Princess Diaries.

The ensemble also includes Marco Ilsø, Billy Barratt, Sara Sofie Boussnina, Gilles Geary and actor-stunt performer Joey Ansah.

Prominent actors from the regional film scene also appear in the production, including Goran Bogdan, Sergej Trifunović and Ivana Dudić.

The story unfolds three centuries after a catastrophic global flood, when the world has fractured into scattered islands permanently threatened by a massive, relentless storm.

The only refuge for islanders is the fortified city-state of Argos, a sanctuary that can be reached only by surviving a dangerous ordeal known as the Storm Ride.

However, not everyone believes safety lies within the walls of Argos.

The film follows two young rebels who defy fate and attempt to break through the eternal storm, venturing into forbidden territory to uncover the truth about the origins of their world, a secret long hidden by the mysterious immortal rulers of Argos known as the Founders.

Filmed across Croatia’s Adriatic coast

The production was filmed across several stunning Croatian locations, including the islands of Brač, Hvar, Kornati and Pag, as well as the cities of Split, Vodice and Dubrovnik.
