Stipe Miočić coming back ‘home’ to Croatia for big event

UFC legend and two-time heavyweight champion Stipe Miočić is set to attend this year’s Sunset Sports Festival, taking place in Zadar from 5 to 7 June 2025.
The event, now in its fourth and most ambitious edition, brings together leaders from the world of sport, media, and business for a unique gathering on the Croatian coast.
“It is a great honour to announce the arrival of Stipe Miočić, one of the greatest MMA fighters of all time,” said Damjan Rudež, former NBA player and Festival Director. “His success, character, and values have left a lasting mark on the world of combat sports.”

Miočić, who proudly embraces his Croatian roots, expressed excitement about his visit to Croatia. “For me, this is not just a trip to Croatia – it’s a return home,” he said. “It’s a chance to connect with amazing people at one of the world’s most beautiful locations.”
The American-born fighter, known for his humility and hard work both inside and outside the octagon, began his professional career in the NAAFS before joining the UFC in 2011.
He quickly rose to dominance, earning the record for most consecutive UFC heavyweight title defences. Over the years, he picked up numerous accolades including Performance of the Night and Fight of the Night honours, and was named Sportsman of the Year by the Greater Cleveland Sports Awards in 2019.

Outside the ring, Miočić has continued to serve his community as a firefighter and paramedic, winning hearts in both the US and Croatia. Throughout his career, he has proudly highlighted his heritage and Croatian identity.
