Split has become a meeting point for the international luxury yacht charter industry as the third CROYA Yacht Charter Show opened on the city’s West Coast.
The four-day business event, running until 1 October, has brought together around 250 international brokers and agents, 36 luxury vessels and more than 15 Croatian exhibitors.
Organised by the Croatian Yachting Association (CRO.Y.A.), with the support of Croatia’s Ministry of Tourism and Sport, the event is designed to connect Croatian charter companies and crews directly with international brokers who select yachts and destinations for their clients.
Representatives of local and regional authorities, the Croatian Chamber of Economy and the nautical industry attended the opening ceremony aboard the Colnago catamaran.

Stipe Čogelja, Deputy Prefect of Split-Dalmatia County, said the event highlighted the region’s long maritime tradition and the importance of the nautical industry to its economy.
Ivo Bilić, Deputy Mayor of Split, noted that brokers from 16 countries were attending the event to explore premium vessels and Croatia’s charter offering.

International focus
The show has attracted brokers primarily from markets including the United States, Australia and Spain, according to CRO.Y.A.
For the participating international professionals, the event provides an opportunity to inspect Croatia’s charter fleet in person, meet captains and crews and establish direct business contacts with Croatian companies.

Stipe Petričević, president of CRO.Y.A., said the show’s main purpose was to promote Croatia as a luxury tourism destination while connecting the domestic charter sector with the international yachting market.
The programme includes yacht inspections, professional education, networking events and informal gatherings across the four-day show.
The event has also been extended to four days this year.

Focus on premium tourism
The opening programme was followed by a presentation of Stories – Experience Premium Croatia, a premium tourism platform organised by the Croatian Chamber of Economy.
The two initiatives share a focus on promoting Croatia’s higher-end tourism offering, with an emphasis on quality, authentic experiences and sustainability.

Andreja Vukojević, Vice-President of the Croatian Chamber of Economy and founder of the Stories project, said the show provided an opportunity for Croatian charter businesses not only to present their products but also to learn what international markets are currently seeking.

She highlighted the need for continued investment in marinas, fleets, skilled personnel and complementary tourism experiences as Croatia’s premium nautical sector develops.

Chefs, yachts and networking
The first day also featured the Chef’s Competition, with this year’s theme, “Drops of Gold”, putting Croatian extra virgin olive oil at the centre of the culinary challenge.

Crews also competed in yacht table-decoration skills, while the day concluded with the official CROYA Show Welcome Party.
Throughout the event, international brokers and agents are inspecting the yachts on display and meeting domestic exhibitors.
The organisers say the show provides a platform for direct business between Croatia’s charter industry and international markets while showcasing the country’s wider premium nautical tourism offer.

With Split’s West Coast lined with luxury vessels, the event places Croatia’s charter sector in front of a large international group of brokers ahead of the next stages of the global yacht charter season.
