Snow Claims One Victim in Croatian Capital

CroatiaWeekA 72-year-old retired man has tragically fallen 7 stories to his death as he tried to clean snow from his building in the Zagreb suburb of Siget on Saturday morning…

Early yesterday morning the man slipped and fell from the 7th floor of his apartment block as he climbed to clean snow, which had fell heavily the day before, from the eaves of his terrace. The victim, described by his neighbours as honest and the ‘first to help’ , was trying to remove frozen snow from the eaves of his terrace so that ice would not fall onto walkers passing underneath the building.
