A new regional hub dedicated to the development, testing and commercialisation of advanced marine and water technologies has officially opened in the Dalmatian city of Šibenik.
The ADRIA TECH technology park is a joint initiative of DIH Innovamare, Croatian Chamber of Economy and Šibenik-Knin County, aimed at strengthening cooperation between science, industry and entrepreneurship through innovative solutions for the maritime and water sectors.
The opening ceremony brought together representatives from government, research institutions and the technology sector, including ADRIA TECH director Krešimir Nikolić, Šibenik deputy mayor Danijel Mileta, Šibenik-Knin County prefect Paško Rakić, State Secretary at the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds Tanja Radić Lakoš, and Croatian Chamber of Economy vice-president Marija Šćulac.

Located on Južna magistrala in Šibenik, the new centre covers more than 1,100 square metres and includes specialised workshops, office and coworking spaces, a conference hall, and an operational control centre for surface and underwater drones, the first facility of its kind in Croatia.
One of the project’s key features is a dedicated marine testing zone, allowing technologies to be developed and tested in real sea conditions.
Speaking at the opening, deputy mayor Danijel Mileta highlighted the importance of creating a strong innovation ecosystem that connects business, science, education and the public sector in one place.

“Ecosystems are what drive development. When you have everything needed for the development of new technologies in one location, from research institutions and experts to testing facilities and industry support, you create the conditions for major progress,” Mileta said.
He added that ADRIA TECH represents a natural continuation of Šibenik’s wider investment in innovation, technology and sustainable development in recent years.
