ŠIBENIK, 25 April 2026 – A significant step has been reached in the development of a new general hospital in Šibenik, with the formal signing of a €2,056,250 contract for project management services.
The agreement was signed by Ivana Skorić, director of Šibenik-Knin County General Hospital, and Romano Perić, director of Zagreb-based BIM projekt d.o.o., marking the beginning of the operational phase of the long-anticipated healthcare project.
The signing ceremony, held at the hospital’s administrative building, brought together senior representatives from national and local government, including State Secretary at the Ministry of Health Tomislav Dulibić, members of parliament, regional officials, and project stakeholders.
Speaking at the event, Skorić described the contract as a crucial step in delivering one of the region’s most important healthcare investments.
The appointed project manager will oversee the complex preparation and construction process of the new facility, which is expected to significantly improve healthcare standards across the county.
She highlighted Šibenik’s long medical tradition, dating back to 1403, noting that the new hospital represents both continuity and progress in the region’s healthcare development.
State Secretary Dulibić emphasised that the project is of strategic importance for Croatia’s healthcare system, identifying it as one of the country’s key infrastructure initiatives in the sector.
Šibenik Mayor Željko Burić underlined the wider significance of the project, stating that the new hospital will serve not only the city but the broader Dalmatian region and beyond. He added that it would enhance working conditions for medical staff while delivering higher-quality care for patients.
