A total of six events: four exclusive wine events, a wine picnic and a wine marathon. From September 3 to October 1, all roads lead to the Noble Route of the Virovitica-Podravina County
On Saturday, September 3, the exclusive wine festival of Croatia’s Slavonia and Podravina region wine not!? opens with a pink nocturne in noble garb in the Janković Castle in Sukhopol, wine not!?
Its premier edition last year raised the bar high, so wine lovers can expect a superb combination of wine, gastronomy, good music and art this September at the most beautiful locations of the Noble Route of Virovitica-Podravina County.
Famous oenologist Ivana Nemet is traditionally the ambassador of the festival, but also the main “selector” of wines, while the gourmet story is signed by well-known names such as award-winning confectioner Sandra Jadek, gastro blogger maXYama and the well-coordinated team of the famous Zlatni klas.
Visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy the wines of Vineda, Apolitico, Dvojak, Patkoš, Matković, PP Orahovica, OPG’s Jović and Kostelac, and the wines of the Sveti Vinko Winemakers’ Association.
As many as six wine events
There are as many as six wine events on the program. After the tasting of pink wines in the castle in Sukhopol, on September 11, a wine picnic will be enjoyed in the Jankovac Forest Park, Wine&Art in the Pejačević Castle in Virovitica is scheduled for September 17, in Noskovci on September 22, two stories will be intertwined – the one about Graševina and the Dravska story, on the slopes of Krndija and Papuk in Orahovica on September 24th, a wine marathon is “walked” and drunk, and the event ends on October 1st with wine and poetry in the Interpretation Center of the Petr Preradović House in Grabrovnica.
The strongest assets of Slavonia and Podravina
“With this year’s wine festival, we combined two strong tourist assets – the Noble Route and the top wines of Slavonia and Podravina. Our county has a long tradition of winemaking and viticulture. In Slatina, back in 1864, one of the first sparkling wines in Croatia was produced, and we are also known for the award-winning green silvanac from Orahovica, while on the slopes of Bilogora, Krndija and Papuk there are more and more family boutique wineries with excellent wines. We will have the opportunity to taste some of them this time as well”, points out Martina Jakelić, director of the TZ Virovitica-Podravine County, who, together with the local tourist board, is the organizer of all six events.
For everyone who wants to be a part of this beautiful story, it is important to point out that the number of places is limited, the registration fee for the event is HRK 100 per person, except for the Wine Picnic in Jankovac Forest Park.
It will cost HRK 150, the registration fee is valid for two people and includes the rental of a picnic basket with a bottle of wine of your choice. The registration fee is paid via a form that can be found on the website www.tzvpz.hr.
