A new tourism film promoting Selca on the Croatian island of Brač is already resonating with audiences thanks to its quiet, emotional approach and authentic storytelling.

Titled “Where every return feels like coming home”, the film takes a different direction from traditional destination campaigns. Rather than showcasing dramatic scenes or spectacular highlights, it focuses on atmosphere, everyday moments and the deeper feeling that draws visitors back.

The opening scene sets the tone. Two people sit by the waterfront. One looks through binoculars while the other gazes out across the sea. Nothing dramatic happens, and that is exactly the point.

The nearly four-minute film captures the essence of Selca through calm imagery, simple moments and a relaxed rhythm. Instead of trying to convince travellers why they should visit, it reflects on something more powerful: why people return.

The film also highlights that Selca is more than just one place. The destination covers the eastern part of Brač and includes the communities of Selca, Sumartin, Povlja and Novo Selo.

What connects them is a shared sense of authenticity, tradition and a way of life that continues to be lived rather than simply presented for visitors.

Produced by Beep Films in collaboration with the Selca Municipality Tourist Board, the project deliberately avoids glossy tourist clichés. Instead, it focuses on the qualities that define the area – simplicity, local rhythm and a genuine sense of belonging that develops over time.

The film suggests that what makes Selca special is not just its first impression, but the lasting connection visitors form with the place.

Alongside the main version of the film, which runs for three minutes and 50 seconds, a shorter reel format has also been produced for social media.

The initiative was supported by the Croatian National Tourist Board and the Split-Dalmatia County Tourist Board, underlining the importance of developing high-quality and authentic tourism storytelling.

For travellers looking for something beyond the typical promotional postcard, the new film offers a calmer, more genuine portrayal of island life. Check out the film below.
