Sandra Perković Wins World Championship Silver in China


Champion Croatian discus thrower Sandra Perković has won silver at the IAAF World Championships in Beijing on Tuesday…

Perković, who is the reigning European, World and Olympic champion, threw 67.39 metres with her last attempt but fell short of the eventual winner, Cuban Denia Caballero, who threw 69.28 metres.

The silver was Sandra’s fifth medal in a row at major competitions. Since the European Championship win in Barcelona in 2010, she has won gold at all major competitions. The only gold she did not win was in South Korea in 2011 when she did not compete.
