ZAGREB, 21 July (Hina) – Croatia’s best track and field athlete, Sandra Perković, won silver in the women’s discus throw event at the World Athletics Championships in the US city of Eugene, Oregon on Wednesday.

Perković was second with a throw of 68.45m, her best result this season. The gold medal went to Chinese Bin Feng (69.12m), while American Valarie Allman took bronze (68.30m).

By winning the silver medal, Perković (32) became the first female discuss thrower in history to win five medals at world championships. It was her 12th medal at major competitions.
