ZAGREB, 22 July (Hina) – Rolling Stone UK has featured Croatia’s Špancirfest in its article “The Ultimate Croatian Summer: Guide to Wine, Dine & Discover”, describing the Varaždin event as one of the festivals worth visiting during a stay in Croatia.
The Varaždin Tourist Board said on Tuesday the festival was presented as Croatia’s largest street festival, renowned for its unique atmosphere, diverse programme and the distinctive setting of the city’s historic centre.
According to the article’s authors, visitors do not need to plan their itinerary, as festival attractions can be found throughout the city simply by taking a walk.
The article also traces the festival’s development from a three-day event launched in 1999 into Varaždin’s best-known symbol, attracting more than 300,000 visitors from Croatia and abroad each year.
