It was a mixed day for the Croatians on the opening day of the French Open at Roland Garros on Sunday…

The day started well when Mirjana Lučić – Baroni negotiated her first round match against American Lauren Davis, winning 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 in one hour and 52 minutes. Lučić – Baroni (33) started the match well against the World number 64, taking the first set 6-3. However 33 unforced errors from the Croatian let the American back into the match in the second set. Lučić – Baroni eventually came back in the third set to advance to the second round where she will play Simona Halep .
