Rijeka to Face Lyon at Empty Kantrida after UEFA Punish Croatians

CroatiaUEFA has punished Croatian club HNK Rijeka on Tuesday for racist behavior by its fans at its Europa League match against Real Betis earlier this month.

UEFA says that Rijeka’s Kantrida stadium will be partially closed when it hosts Lyon in a Europa League tie on 7 November. Rijeka was fined 8,000 euros over fans’ offensive banners (a celtic cross) during the 1-1 draw against Real Betis on 3 October. Rijeka says that they will appeal UEFA’s decision.
