Record Number of Flights in Croatian Air Space

Records are being smashed all over Croatia at the moment – from record temperatures to record tourist arrivals – right to the highest recorded jump in turnover. Another record was broken on the weekend, this time above the country.

The nation’s flight controllers on Saturday received a record 2,511 flight requests to fly in Croatian air space.

“A record number (2,511), of which most were over head flights (1,939), was recorded on Saturday 10 August 2013 in Croatia’s air space, the remaining flights were arrivals and take offs. The result was the best since Croatia’s independence,” said Croatia Air Traffic Control.
Comparing numbers from previous years, the record in 2011 was 2,336 flights, whilst last year the highest number was 2,504.
