RECORD: First December in History With No Rain or Snow in Croatia

korcula

It was another year without a White Christmas in Croatia, although snow is forecast in parts of the country on New Year’s Day…

December 2015 will be remembered for its dry, sunny and for the time of the year relatively warm temperatures. Beaches on the Dalmatian coast have even had their fair share of swimmers this month as temperatures have regularly been in the high teens during the day. With another dry day forecast tomorrow, it looks as if an interesting record is going to be set.

If there is no rain or snow tomorrow on the last day of the month, then it will be the first time in history of meteorological measurement that no precipitation, be it rain or snow, has fallen in the month of December in Croatia, weather portal Crometeo reports.

December is not just going to be record-breaking in Croatia. In Switzerland December 2015 has been the warmest in the last 150 years, with temperatures 3.4°C above average for the month.
