A new football coaching manual by respected Croatian expert Rajko Magić has been presented at the headquarters of the Croatian Football Federation’s Football Academy.
The book, titled “Nogometna taktika” (Football Tactics), has been published by the Croatian FA’s Football Academy and is intended as a practical guide for football coaches.
Speaking at the presentation, Magić thanked the Croatian Football Federation and the Football Academy for organising the launch and supporting the publication of the new edition.
“I am pleased that after ten years I managed to produce a new edition of the book which has been distributed to the participants of the Football Academy,” Magić said.
The updated and expanded edition was prepared in cooperation with Academy director Boris Kubla. According to Magić, the aim was to create a comprehensive guide covering the key responsibilities a coach faces when taking over a team.

“In the book I have brought together many of the situations I encountered during my 30 years of coaching and how I approached solving tactical problems,” he explained.
Magić emphasised that football tactics cannot be reduced to rigid rules.
“There are no fixed rules in football tactics that apply to every team and every moment. I hope the book will encourage coaches to think and develop their own ideas when solving problems and preparing teams for matches, which is ultimately the essence of the coaching profession,” he added.
“Nogometna taktika” is Magić’s second book. His first, “Taktička obuka ekipe” (Tactical Team Training), was published in 2017.
