Raining Mandarins At “Neretva Days” in Zagreb

“Neretva Days” started in the Croatian capital Zagreb on Saturday, with a humanitarian and cultural program at the cities’ main Ban Jelacic Square.

A large number of people, despite the gloomy weather, gathered to enjoy the delicacies, songs and dance of the Neretva region (Dubrovnik-Nevetva County), and also eat a few mandarins, renowed in the Neretva region.

Well known Neretva personalities handed out over 10,000 packets of mandarins to the public on Saturday as a gesture of gratitude to the City of Zagreb for their help when the Neretva valley flooded earlier this year.

Neretva Days concludes on Sunday at Zagreb’s Jarun lake, with a traditional bowls tournament.
