Silver Bear at the Leading Global Tourism Fair ITB Berlin
As part of the leading global tourism fair, ITB Berlin, the prestigious “The Golden City Gate” award has been presented for 25 years.
Today, at this renowned competition, the new promotional tourist film “Discover Otočac, Brinje and Vrhovine” won second place in the “Regional International Film” category.
The awards were presented at the Astor Film Lounge in Berlin, where the winning films were also showcased. The award was accepted by Viktorija Rogić, director of the Otočac Tourist Board, and director and cameraman Filip Bašić from DOKU FILMS.

After being nominated, the promotional film “Discover Otočac, Brinje and Vrhovine” received this significant recognition among strong competition from well-known destinations worldwide.
The Otočac Tourist Board created the film in collaboration with the Brinje and Vrhovine Tourist Boards, capturing the natural, cultural, and culinary gems of the region. Over 40 local residents appeared as extras in vibrant scenes filmed at various locations.
In just 2.5 minutes, the viewer is taken through shots of Sokolac Castle, the Fortica Fortress, the Gacka River, Brodić Lake, Jurjevi Stones, Majer’s Spring, stone bridges, and many other natural and cultural landmarks.
The film also highlights local gastronomy and various outdoor activities, further confirming that this area holds true treasures.
The video is narrated in English, offering a metaphorical description of the scenes, helping the viewer connect with the breathtaking locations.
The award
The creative concept and script were developed by Hana Klain from the Klain PR agency, with direction and cinematography by Filip Bašić from DOKU FILMS, assisted by Stjepan Dolenec.
The producer was Viktorija Rogić, director of the Otočac Tourist Board, and the graphics were created by Nikolina Holjak from Arsa Design Studio. The editing was done by Filip Bašić and Danijel Kačavenda, with animations by Damian Paić.

The mentioned tourist boards began their project collaboration in late 2022, marking this as their second joint endeavour.
Funding for the film was provided by the Croatian National Tourist Board through a public competition for funding projects of united tourist boards in 2024 from the Fund for Combined Tourist Boards.
