Popular Food Truck Festival in Zagreb is back

The first Food Truck Festival in Croatia, which has been a big hit since launching, is set to start again at Zagreb’s Lake Jarun.

This year’s edition is set to be the biggest edition yet, with over 20,000 visitors expected from May 25 to June 12.

With a rich offer of good food and an even better music and entertainment, the Food Truck Festival very quickly became one of the favourite street festivals for the people of Zagreb.

Located at Lake Jarun, on the green oasis near Aquarius, it has been a favourite summer place for many to walk and socialise in the shade with a glass of beer and street food.

Food Truck Festival opens to all visitors on Thursday, May 26 at 4pm and with a traditional concert performance from Ljetno kino 8pm.

There will be free concerts from local artists, starting at 8 pm, each weekend.

Street food on offer will include burgers, BBQ, fish specialties, ethnic delicacies and sandwiches, fritters and craft ice cream, but also drinks such as craft beer, gin, cocktails, aperol spritz, coffee and juices.

“Picnic” from Zadar will present its offer in “Podravka Food Court” for the first time, along with its multi-award winning Blackie burger, Zagreb street food institution “El Toro”, Slavonian “Time Out”, American specialties such as loaded fries / nachos by Vegeta Grill Marinada BBQ from the “Loaded” truck and fantastic fish snacks in the form of sushi, fish tacos at the “Cromaris food corner”.

Varaždin’s “Reshetka powered by Đurina hiža”, which will premiere its two new burgers for the Zagreb audience,  will make a special festival guest appearance on Thursday, June 9.

Lovers of sweets will get their money’s worth in the sweet zone where they will be able to enjoy a rich selection of Croatian craft gelato at the food truck “Pri suncu”, prepared by young pastry chef Nina Šarić and exquisite fritters at “Nadina fritule”.

Find refreshment in the shade of the Jarun oasis in the Medvedgrad, Badel, Jack Daniels, Hendricks, Cocktails, Aperol Spritz, Pipi and Jamnica zones.

There are also numerous children’s workshops on weekends, an outdoor library, a fashion flea market, a small plot to buy seasonal local products, a chance to take photos on a unique retro vehicle, a photo bus and many other fun activities.

All events and concerts at the Food Truck Festival are free for visitors, and the festival is open to visitors during the working week from 4 pm to 12 am, while on weekends from 11 am to 2 am.
