Plitvice Lakes National Park
ZAGREB, 27 June 2026 – Plitvice Lakes National Park has confirmed that all accommodation and hospitality facilities are once again operating normally following a cyber incident that temporarily disrupted parts of its operations earlier this week.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the park said its card payment system has been fully restored and is once again available at all sales points, including ticket offices, allowing visitors to purchase entrance tickets using their preferred payment method.
The update follows a statement released on 24 June, in which the park revealed that it had experienced a cyber incident two days earlier despite maintaining what it described as a high level of information and cybersecurity protection and continuous investment in safeguarding its systems and data.
According to the park, the incident prompted an immediate response. Relevant Croatian state authorities were notified, security protocols were activated, measures were introduced to limit the potential impact of the attack, and a detailed investigation was launched in cooperation with specialist cybersecurity experts.
During the disruption, key business processes continued to operate, although some services experienced difficulties as a precautionary measure to protect system security.
The park remained open to visitors throughout the incident, with tickets continuing to be available for purchase. Complimentary drinking water and refreshments were provided at points around the lakes to help visitors during the temporary disruption, while a number of hospitality facilities continued operating in accordance with legal requirements after notifying the relevant authorities.
The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
Park management said it is not yet able to determine the extent of any financial damage or whether any data may have been compromised.
It added that protecting the data of visitors, partners and employees remains its highest priority and that additional preventive security measures continue to be implemented to strengthen the resilience of its systems.
In its latest update, the park thanked visitors for their patience and understanding during the temporary disruption and apologised for any inconvenience caused.
