Players Attacked By Fans At Petrol Station After Returning From Derby

Three players from Croatian football club Rijeka were attacked by hooligans at a petrol station after returning home from a derby match against Hajduk Split on Sunday night.

When Rijeka’s team bus stopped at a petrol station in the town of Dugopolje on the outskirts of Split, players Darijo Knezevic, Luka Maric and Ivan Mocinic were attacked in the toilets of the station by a set of hooligans, suffering bruises, reports Dalmacija news.

According to reports Police intervened and arrested the offenders. Earlier in the evening Rijeka had beaten Hajduk Split in the ‘derby of the Adriatic’ 2-1 at Split’s Poljud Stadium.
