‘Zagreb Dragon’ is available to check out from this week at Zagreb’s Zoo in the Croatian capital…

A 3-year-old Komodo dragon arrived at Zagreb Zoo from a crocodile farm in France this week. The Komodo dragon is the largest living species of lizard, growing to a maximum length of 3 metres in rare cases and weighing up to approximately 165 kilograms. The one which is at Zagreb Zoo currently is 180 centimetres long.

“It is an extremely rare animal at the zoo and it took our breath away when it arrived,” Zagreb Zoo manager Damir Skok said, adding that the Komodo dragon is still slowly getting accustomed to its new surroundings so it is a bit shy.
