dsZagreb Mayor Milan Bandić and Croatian football federation President Davor Šuker have officially opened the federation’s first informative-multimedia centre in Zagreb on Monday…

The centre, named “Budi ponosan” (Be Proud), is situated right on Zagreb’s main Ban Jelačić square and will give visitors the opportunity to learn in an interactive fashion about the rich history of Croatian football.

“We often emphasise our motto ‘Be proud’, and this information center shows the best of what we can and should be proud of. With this we acknowledge the many who are indebted to Croatian football, we give an opportunity for younger generations to learn a lot and at the same time provide them with a motive to become involved in football. I am sure that Croatian football deserves a place like this in the centre of Zagreb and that this will contribute to the promotion of Croatian football both nationally and internationally”, said Šuker at Monday’s opening.

The centre, designed like a football stadium, has the ‘changing rooms’ in the first part of the centre where visitors can learn more about the history of Croatian football via a number of screens and illustrations. Visitors can then make their way down the tunnel to the pitch where there is a hall of fame dedicated to the biggest names in Croatian football. Information is tourist friendly and is available in English as well as Croatian. Entry is free.
