One of Europe’s biggest carnivals has taken place again in the Croatian city of Rijeka on Sunday.

The Rijeka Carnival culminated on Sunday 11 February with more than 10,000 people taking part in the traditional 35th International Carnival parade.

After nearly a month of carnival entertainment, concerts and charity events, the 2018 Rijeka Carnival reached its climax on Sunday with the traditional parade on Rijeka’s Korzo.

More than 10,000 people in 104 carnival groups from all over Croatia and abroad dressed up in a range of different costumes as they showed their creativity on floats in downtown Rijeka. Carnival parties will continue well into Sunday night.
