The Sony World Photography Awards, which is largest and most comprehensive photography competition in the world, have awarded Croatia’s best photo in 2016 to Petar Sabol…

According to the Sony World Photography Awards judging panel, Sabol’s spectacular photo ‘Kingfisher in action’ was best photo in 2016 from Croatia.

“Photographing Kingfishers has been my passion for several years. I never get tired of it – they are both special and fascinating birds. My winning photo shows a unique moment when this super-fast small bird emerged from the water with a small fish it had caught,” said Sabol.

Sabol’s prize for winning the award is a Sony ILCE-7M2K camera, as well as having his photo exhibited in London as part of Sony’s exhibitions.
