PayPal Packing Up From Croatia

eBay owned online money transfer company PayPal, are to close their Croatia operation at the end of this month, despite having a successful 2012, turning over more than USD1M.

PayPal have been in Croatia for only one and a half years, and the closure will see 17 computer programmers lose their jobs, however it has been reported that they have been offered positions in the company in the USA. Up until the announcement the company had talked about expansion plans in Croatia, growing its staff to up to 200.

PayPal are pulling out of Croatia because of security of its investment and business standards which meant that if PayPal were to continue to operate in Croatia then they would have to employ at least another 30 people and the risk was too high say the company.
