Oyster Festival In Croatia’s Oyster Capital

The town of Mali Ston on Croatia’s Adriatic coast is famous for its oysters and on Sunday a “Festival of Oysters” will take place on the town’s waterfront to celebrate the holiday Saint Joseph.

Along with a degustation of oysters and wine from the Peljesac region, a full music and entertainment programme is planned for the day and evening. The town of Mali Ston is famous in Croatia for its cultivation of oysters. Eating oysters in Mali Ston is a must for every tourist to visit this area in Croatia. Oysters, muscles and other shell-fish are all farmed there. Ston Oysters farmed in the Bay of Mali Ston were awarded the Grand Prix and Gold Medal at the General Trades International Exhibition in London in 1936.
