Orlando Magic Pick Up Dario Šarić in NBA Draft

CroatiaCroatian basketball star Dario Šarić has been selected by the Orlando Magic with the No. 12 pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, the highest by a Croatian player in the history of the draft…

Šarić will not however be playing in the NBA this season. The Magic have traded the 6ft’10 forward to the Philadelphia 76ers , but first he is off to Turkey for at least two seasons before playing in the US. Šarić signed a deal earlier this week with Anadolu Efes of the Turkish League.

“My dream is the NBA, but I have chosen a different path. I played in the 3rd Croatian league, then the second, then the first. After that I spent time playing in the regional ABA league and I think that it is best that I play two more seasons in Turkey. After that I will be ready for the NBA,” said Šarić.
