The factory is set to be complete by 2020 with more than 50 people employed in the new factory which will have double the production capacity as their current plant.
The Spider Group, and with connected companies Jan-spider, Herbarium, Dolta and Biofarma, specialises in the organic cultivation of medicinal and aromatic herbs, processing and production of herbal and fruit infusions (teas) also producers teas and other products under partner brands.
The company owns the brands Naturavita and Gardenolo, and according to jutarnji.hr, they are in negotiations for their chamomile tea to become one one of Walmart’s home brands.
“Our teas, mostly green and black teas, are sold through our partners at the Walmart subsidiary, Sam’s Club in Mexico, and now we want to expand that partnership. We should produce teas for their home brand, and we hope to be very competitive,” said Spider Group’s CEO Denis Nemčević.
Exports make up 60% of the Spider Group’s business. The new factory will see them move from producing 10 million boxes of tea annually to 20 million. The company currently employs 150 people.
