The Croatian National Bank (HNB) and the Croatian Mint have announced the release of a new silver commemorative coin dedicated to King Tomislav, Croatia’s first monarch.

The coin is the latest in the ongoing numismatic series celebrating this prominent early medieval ruler.

Weighing 2 ounces, the silver coin continues the popular “King Tomislav” series and is a proud tribute to the king who, in the year 925, became the first ruler to hold the royal title in Croatian history.

His coronation was confirmed by Pope John X, marking a pivotal moment in the formation of the Croatian state.

During his reign, King Tomislav significantly expanded the territory of the Croatian kingdom and maintained strong military stability. His leadership successfully repelled Hungarian invasions and elevated Croatia’s status among European nations of the time.

Because of this enduring legacy, his name lives on through numerous streets, squares, and institutions throughout the country.

The new collector’s coin comes elegantly packaged in a gift box, accompanied by a sleeve detailing its specifications and a certificate of authenticity signed by the Governor of the Croatian National Bank.
