New car sales in Croatia halved y-o-y

ZAGREB, Aug 6 (Hina) – A total of 5,132 new vehicles were sold in Croatia in July, which is 17.3% less than in the same month last year, whereas since the start of the year 22,568 new vehicles have been sold, which is a drop of 49.1% compared to the same period last year, the Promocija Plus market research company has reported.

In the first seven months of this year, the best-selling car brand was Volkswagen, selling 3,487 units or 15.4% of total new car sales.

The majority of cars sold from January to July were petrol cars (12,829), which is 56.8% of all new cars sold, followed by 8,016 diesel cars (35.5%), 1,336 hybrid cars (5.9%), 264 gas-powered cars (1.2%) and 123 electric cars (0.5%).
