Nautical Tourism on the Rise as Croatia’s Ports Sees Income Grow

According to the Central Bureau of Statistics, 106 Croatian nautical ports last year generated a total income of 686.7 million kuna (90 million EUR), or 4 percent more than the year before. Most of this revenue, 73.5 percent or 504.7 million kuna (65 million EUR) was generated from renting moorings, which also saw an increase of 3.5 percent from the previous year.

Of the 106 mentioned nautical ports on the Croatian coast,  67 were marinas and 39 were ‘other’ nautical ports.  All of the ports last year had a combined total of 16,940 berths. Among the six Adriatic counties, the county with the highest income last year generated from its nautical ports was the Šibenik-Knin county with revenues of 191.8 million kuna (25 million EUR), up 17.2 percent from the prior year.
