National Folk Dance Ensemble of Croatia LADO, the nation’s most successful ‘cultural export product’ thanks to their performances which represent the rich and diverse regional musical and choreographic traditions of Croatia, are preparing a spectacular in Split.

LADO will perform a concert at Split’s Spaladium Arena on 1 December 2018 at 7 pm.

The concert will present some of the choreographies that have been awarded both at local and foreign festival competitions, as well as choreographies that for the first time bring the songs and dances of Croatians in Austria, Hungary and the area along the Sutla River.

The ensemble, which travels the world promoting Croatian culture, consists of over 35 dancers who also sing while they perform, and a group of musicians who play traditional and classical instruments.

Lado has had numerous famous Croatian ethnographers and choreographers, music arrangers, and folklorists work with them. The group, which was founded in 1949, was nominated a few years back for the prestigious Independent Music Award (IMA) in America.
