Munich Confirm Mandžukić Move to Madrid

CroatiaBayern Munich have confirmed on Wednesday that Croatia striker Mario Mandžukić will leave the club for Spanish side Atletico Madrid…

“We have agreed terms with Atletico Madrid and Mandžukić. Although nothing is signed, I can officially confirm the transfer. Thanks Mario for all you have done at Bayern,” Bayern’s sports director Matthias Sammer said today, as the club officially unveiled their new number 9, Robert Lewandowski.

Mandžukić has been signed as a replacement for Diego Costa, who is on his way to Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea this season. The deal, which will be signed this week, now means Croatia will have players in all three of Spain’s best clubs, with Luka Modrić at Real Madrid, and Ivan Rakitić at Barcelona.
