Modern-Day “Popeye” in Croatia

A modern-day German “Popeye” is currently in Croatia where he is teaching the locals a lesson or two about arm-wrestling.

25-year-old Matthias Schlitte, who was born with his right arm bigger than his left, is the current Germa arm-wrestling champion for his weight category. Schlitte began practicing arm-wrestling when he was just 16 years old and since then has been training only his right arm muscles up to six times a week. His left forearm is just a third of the size of his right forearm, which measures almost 18 inches in circumference.

Schlitte, who is competing in Zagreb and is known throughout the world as “Popeye”, speaks four languages and is an economics student in Germany, reports RTL television.
