Million Default On TV Subscriptions In Croatia

It seems nobody in Croatia is keen to pay the mandatory public television subscription fee. Croatia’s public broadcaster Croatian Radiotelevision (HRT) every year has hundreds of thousands of Croats default on the television subscription fee, forcing HRT to enforce legal action more than 200 times a day, writes Novi list.

In two cycles in one year HRT had over 100,000 defaulters, with 274 defaults daily. The paper reports that HRT has more than one million default actions which are outstanding. HRT’s Supervisory Board have been analysing expenditure made to law firms engaged to deal with defaulters.
