10 October 2019 – McDonald’s in Croatia have released a new burger in conjunction with the country’s leading truffle company Zigante from Istria.
The Maestro Zigante Truffles burger is prepared with two 100% beef patties, gauda cheese, mushrooms, fried onions, lamb’s lettuce (matovilac) and a mushroom sauce with Zigante truffles.
“We are proud to serve our guests with the Maestro burger with top Croatian products and thus continue our successful cooperation with leading Croatian companies,”said Pavel Pavlicek, CEO of McDonald’s Croatia.
“We are delighted McDonald’s have recognised excellence and a focus on superior quality which are the values we share. Truffles have been the focus of our business for over a quarter of a century and we are quite sure that in combination with succulent beef, they will tickle the palate, said Zigante, whose factory in Plovanija, not far from Buje, employs about ten thousand carefully crafted products every day.
In 1999, Zigante also found one of the largest truffles in the world near Buje in Istria. That truffle weighed 1.31 kilograms and entered the Guinness Book of Records.
In addition to the Maestro Zigante Truffles burger, McDonald’s released the Maestro Mushroom burger, and loaded fries and fries with truffle mayonnaise.
