VIDEO: Marko Tolja releases posthumous duet with Oliver Dragojević

A new duet by Marko Tolja and the late Oliver Dragojević titled “Ti si moja ljubav” has officially been released.

The song brings together one of Croatia’s most respected contemporary vocalists with one of the country’s most celebrated musical icons through previously recorded vocals by Dragojević.

Tolja said the project came as an unexpected moment in his career and described it as a great privilege. He recalled first meeting Oliver at the beginning of his musical journey and later sharing numerous performances with him over the years.

According to Tolja, the pair had planned to record a duet together and had been waiting for what they considered the right song. However, those plans were never realised.

The idea for the duet emerged years later after Tolja received a song by Vinko Barčot featuring Oliver’s recorded vocals.

Barčot wrote both the music and lyrics for the track, while Ante Gelo was responsible for the arrangement and production.

Tolja said he initially questioned whether the project should go ahead, but ultimately decided to proceed together with Gelo as a tribute to Oliver and their shared musical history.

Before the release, the completed recording was presented to Oliver Dragojević’s family, who gave their approval and support for the project.

The accompanying music video was directed by award-winning theatre director Roman Nikolić. The video explores themes of love, longing and absence through the stories of three generations.

The cast includes Helena Buljan, Dušan Gojić, Frano Mašković, Anita Matić Delić, Mirej Stanić, Mare Šimić and Dorian Vicić.

“Ti si moja ljubav” is now available on all major music streaming platforms. Check it out below.
