It was a historic day for Croatian tennis in Dallas as Marin Čilić secured his 600th ATP career victory, becoming the most successful Croatian player in history.

The milestone came at the ATP 500 tournament in Dallas, where Čilić defeated 20-year-old American Learner Tien 7-5, 7-6(4) in the first round.

With the win, Čilić surpassed Croatian legend Goran Ivanišević, who finished his career with 599 ATP victories.

The former US Open champion delivered a composed and high-quality performance, reminding fans of his very best days on tour.

The victory lifts Čilić to 54th in the latest ATP rankings, marking another positive step in his resurgence.

Despite competing in one of the strongest periods in tennis history, the Croatian has assembled a résumé that commands global respect.

He won one Grand Slam title at the US Open in 2014 and reached two further Grand Slam finals at Wimbledon in 2017 and the Australian Open in 2018.

He played a key role in Croatia’s 2018 Davis Cup triumph and also helped the national team reach the Davis Cup finals in 2016 and 2021.

At the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2020, he secured a silver medal in doubles. His achievements on the ATP Tour include one ATP Masters 1000 title, two ATP 500 titles and an impressive 17 ATP 250 titles.

And now, 600 ATP match wins.
