Mandžukić in the Race to Become European Golden Shoe

Croatia70Croatia’s Bayern Munich striker Mario Mandžukić is in the race to become the Best Striker in Europe this season…

Mandžukić, whose double on the weekend sent him to the top of the Bundesliga top scorers list with 16 goals, has 32 points and is currently in equal 8th spot with Barcelona’s Alexis Sanchez in the race for the European Golden shoe. Currently leading the race are Liverpool’s Luis Suarez and Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo.

Lithuanian striker Nerijus Valskis, who scored 27 goals for Lithuanian club Suduva, is the most prolific goalscorer, but finds himself in 22nd position on the list because of the Lithuanian leagues poor ranking. Croatian domestic league player, Rijeka’s Leon Benko, also makes the list in 45th spot.
