Max the Maltese went missing from his home this month and ended up strolling over the border to Slovenia, where he was found by an Italian national. The Italian then took Max to Rovereto in Italy to have him checked over by a vet. Luckily Max had been chipped and registered which made it easy for his owners to be tracked down and given the good news.
First the Croatian Veterinary Institute were notified by their Italian counterparts who then were able to track down the owners in Kastav. A few emails later and Max’s owners were in Rovereto collecting their beloved pet, reports 24sata. The Croatian Veterinary Institute stressed the importance of chipping pets and adhering to their regulations. as well as thanking their Italian colleagues on a job well done.
